super.

oliver loves to wear batman gloves to bed.
a foam sword normally rests on the pillow next to him.
his super hero capes rest at the foot of the bed,
ready just in case i might relent and let him
wear one to preschool the next day.

he has been very creative in dressing himself lately.
the last time we asked him to throw some clothes on
to go to the grocery store...
he came out in
{only}
a plaid neck tie,
neon yellow sunglasses,
and a cape.

last saturday morning
he flew out of his room in
swim shorts
under football pants
under shorts
paired with a leather belt,
a gonzaga tee,
some chucks,
a bear-trapper hat,
and
{of course}
a cape.
he proclaimed himself a
"SUPER beartrapper hero guy."

he was so busy flying, punching + shooting
that he did not notice i only gave him
three of the ten jelly beans promised
when i bribed him to get in front of my camera.

i am so glad i was dead wrong in the notion
that only little girls love to play dress up.
the super hero stage
is shaping up to be
a definite fave.

xoxo,

proud, delighted mommy.

ps. next post
i get to introduce you to one of my most
favorite bellas...
and offer up a
sweet discount
for 2013 senior portraits.

my posse's on broadway.

i love a happy accident.

bobby, ashley, carson and avery
were meeting me at tully's off broadway
for their family portrait session.

turns out there are two tully's stores off broadway,
about a mile from each other.
i was waiting up the hill (lucky) -
they were at the bottom.
after figuring out we were not at the same location,
we all started walking the
 cold + {super} windy
half mile walk
to meet in the middle.

the middle just so happened
to boast an ADORABLE old house
with a RAD garage door and gorgeous brick porch...

and it was blocked from the wind.
it was perfect!

a perfect, happy accident.

what a fun shoot!
what a sweet, beautiful family.
(and seriously, they did not leave a single one of
my favorite colors out of their outfits... AWESOME.)

cheers,

nik

YAY!

miles is still a really quiet little man,
doesn't say much yet.
he has mastered mama, dadda
and on occasion, he makes a "muh" sound (more).
he makes a perfect "vroom vroom" sound as he pushes
cars, trucks, legos, tupperware around the floor.

he expanded his word bank by one yesterday afternoon.

oliver was at preschool so miles and i ventured out on an errand spree.
we hit world market, old navy, aaron brothers, starbucks, and michaels.
by the time we were at the last store, miles had finally decided to protest.
loudly.
i took his cue and headed back to the car.
the moment i put him back in the car,
he looked up at me and very loudly
pronounced:

"YAY."

then he sighed
and fell asleep.

ha!
love it.

apparently shopping is exhausting
even from a stroller.

i love my little buddy.

i love THIS little buddy SO much too -
remember my oooober sweet nephew, mr logan?!
he is six months old already

and gorgeous:

ridiculously cute mom+baby.

next post i get to introduce you to my newest
sweet little lovie, sweet baby kenny.

love.

ps. a bit of a dilemma...
i have been searching for new thank you cards
to have on hand for my clients.
came across these super fun ones
from a fun etsy shop (hellosmallworld):

"stripey girl" or "scarf girl" ?
each would be perfect.
trouble is i am equally obsessed with both stripes and scarves.
what would you choose?
